Running a scan on a portfolio while showing Scan Results requires that you watch the portfolio as the new data comes in and see the results yourself.

 

Using Scan Alerts means that you can minimize the portfolio that is running a scan and the scan will pop up the alert for you and place it in the Alert Log.

 

 

 

Paintbars and Scans may include alerts in them.

 

•When using the Simple Paintbar Editor, you can make it trigger an alert on one of the conditions.

 

•When using the Advanced Paintbar Editor, call the TriggerAlert function.

 

Once you place such a scan on the portfolio, you can change the various alert settings for the scan by editing the Scan Parameters.
