Timeframes |
A Timeframe is a set of parameters for the exchange on which the security trades. It includes session start and end times, the rollover time, breaks in trading, if any, days of week when the exchange is active and the exchange holidays. Each security symbol is assigned a timeframe, and the chart takes the timeframe into account when displaying the data.
Most securities will be assigned the correct timeframe by the streamer, but if somehow an incorrect timeframe is assigned, or if you would like to see the data with a different timeframe, you can switch the timeframe for the chart in the View tab of the ribbon menu.
Extended Hours |
The Extended Hours setting that can be found on the same menu determines how and whether the chart shows trading data in pre- and after-market. The possible settings are:
•Current Day - the extended hours trades are only visible on the last day shown on the chart. For previous days, only the regular session trades show.
•During Ext. Hours - the extended hours trades are only visible on the last day shown on the chart and only during the extended hours. Once the trading session starts, the chart will not show extended hour trades
•Always - extended hours trades are always shown
•Never - only regular session trades are shown on the chart for all days.
•Last Two Days - extended hours trades are visible only on the last two days shown on the chart.
•Last Two Days during Ext. Hours - the extended hours trades are only visible on the last two days shown on the chart and only during the extended hours. Once the trading session starts, the chart will not show extended hour trades for any days.
•Last Session Close to Today's Open - only shows the post-pre-market hours for the last session close up to today's open.
The extended hours are shown on the chart on slightly different background, to distinguish them from regular session hours.
